Energy reconstruction of the branch school Šentlovrenc


By entering the public tender for co-financing operations for energy reconstruction of buildings owned by municipalities, the municipality of Trebnje carried out the project of energy reconstruction of the branch school building in Šentlovrenc. Total value of the project, that included the renovation of the roof, facade insulation, replacement of the entire joinery, painting of the rooms, furnace room renovation, purchase of a biomass furnace, replacement of lights in the rooms, bringing hot water in the classrooms and reduction of radon gas impact, was 248,813.00 €.


The objective and the purpose of the project was to reduce heat loss and, consequently, reduce costs, and improve the living conditions of the school.
The aim of the operation was to improve the energy efficiency of the branch school Šentlovrenc, environmental protection and the realization of potential savings in energy use.
The aim of the operation energy rehabilitation of schools, comprising:

  • the facade with thermal insulation made of mineral wool in thickness of 16 cm,
  • the replacement of windows in the shell of the building,
  • replace the door on the shell of the building,
  • implementation of the thermal insulation of the attic by installing mineral wool 20 cm thick,
  • execution of thermal insulation across the terrain,
  • the optimization of the heating system (frequency regulation, a central control system, hydraulic balancing of the heating system, installation of thermostatic valves),
  • installation of biomass boiler and
  • reconstruction of the roof.
